Invisible Symbols in Life
Diamond & Love
Throughout my early career, I’ve often found myself drawn to culturally rich endeavors. One of the most transformative experiences was my time at an antique Majolica tile museum, where I had access to millions of these historic masterpieces. Their intricate designs and formats were impossible to ignore, and soon I found myself immersed in analyzing their origins. Among these patterns, the diamond shape stood out—a motif as ancient as human history. From the elegant tiles of Italian black-and-white floors to the argyle plaids of fashion and the symbols of wealth in poker cards, the diamond is a timeless icon of beauty and significance.
When I began conceptualizing this bracelet, I considered the central stone carefully, seeking one that could carry blessings for its wearer. While browsing my bookshelf, I came across Paintings in the Louvre, a treasured book from years past. On its back cover was François Gérard’s 1798 masterpiece, Cupid and Psyche. The message was clear—Love. Inspired, I selected the moonstone, known as the lover’s stone, to crown the diamond-shaped pedestal. This choice transformed the moonstone stud into a celebration of affection and devotion.
